In The Heights

WHAT:In the Heights, musical
The new musical In theheights.jpg Heights captures three days in the community of Washington Heights as it centers on a bodega owner and his neighbors. Besides, its unique setting and plot, its Latin beat sets it apart from many musicas. Charles Isherwood says it has “the inspiriting flavor of a morning pick-me-up on a warm summer day.” Its energetic cast, joyful choreography "...which synthesizes street styles and Broadway athleticism...", and creative fusion of Caribbean music with traditional musical melodies all serve well for dateless weekends and frigid evenings. The producers, who have also brought us Avenue Q and Rent, have skillfully depicted life in this budding community.
